The Cotswold Mainline Diesel Group are based at Toddington, the headquarters of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway in the scenic Cotswolds.
The CMDG are owners of two locomotives: Class 26, 26043 and Class 45 ‘Peak’, Class 45 45149. Both locomotives are currently undergoing extensive restoration and although they haven’t yet worked a train in preservation, the overhauls are nearing completion on both locomotives and are expected to enter service very shortly - something we are all looking forward to.
On this website you can find history of both the Groups’ locomotives as well as news pages. Current news will be held back before appearing on the website so that the owners of the group (the shareholders) receive the news first vis our quarterly newsletter.
If you would like to assist with the restoration of one or both of the locomotives, there are two options: the first option is to become a working member physically assisting with the restoration but a much more important way you can help is that you could consider purchasing a share (or two) in the locomotives. A full share costs just £250 and more information on how to become a shareholder can be found on the “Join the CMDG” page.
Please feel free to browse this website and please consider helping the CMDG by becoming a shareholder.
Thank you.
